5 Inspirational Eulogy at a Cremation Service

Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. • Jun 08, 2020

Cremation services are naturally emotional events. You likely have a lot that you wish to say, but there isn’t enough time to express everything on your mind. Here’s what to focus on.

Cremation services Hellertown, PA
When you attend cremation services Hellertown, PA, there’s naturally a lot that you want to say. However, it can be very difficult to organize your own thoughts in time. The deceased’s passing may have been very unexpected. If this was the case, planning to host or attend a cremation service may have been very far from your mind.

We can’t tell you what you need to say at cremation services. However, we can offer advice based on experience. There are certain phrases that people long to say, that they regret not saying when the moment is past.

1. How are you doing?

The question is simple, yet it’s effective. When you see the other mourners, ask them how they’re doing. People handle grief in different ways but one thing that always helps is to know that someone is thinking about you. That’s why this basic question can be so effective. Really listen to the answer.

2. Do you need anything?

When someone is dealing with extreme grief, it’s hard to go about their rest of their lives. This is a moment where people commonly need help to get through. You can use your influence to connect with them. They may need help organizing their lives, they may need a friend to speak to. There’s no way to predict it.

3. I remember

Death is awful because it takes your loved one away from you. Instead of living in reality, your loved one only lives in memories. It’s comforting to the survivors to know that they are not alone, that other people remember the deceased as well. The memorial reception is a great place to tell stories. Anything you can remember can be used to bridge a connection.

4. I’m listening

You won’t be the only one telling stories. If someone wants to talk to you about the deceased, let them know that you’re listening. It’s important. Everyone wants to feel heard, no matter the issue, but people are particularly sensitive about end of life services. There’s a lot of emotion wrapped up in the event. Just letting someone know that you’re there for them can help both of you process your grief in a healthier way

5. Nothing

Sometimes, you don’t need to say anything at all. Cremation services are so emotional that it’s possible you won’t be able to speak. If this happens to you, you can express your solidarity in other ways. Cremation services aren’t easy events, but some people find them helpful. It’s not necessary to appear as though everything is fine. You’re allowed to acknowledge your pain.

There must be a lot going through your mind when you’re considering what to say at an upcoming cremation service. It’s natural to think about this because these memories are so important. You will forever associate the cremation service with your loved one. You may have an idea in your head about how you want everything to go.
