Grief in Common offers a live chat room that allows users to connect with others any time they would like. The fee to participate is around $1 a month or about $10 a year. They report that their fee covers the cost of hosting the site and eliminates the need for ads.
The site offers forums where members can read and post messages at any time of day or night. While there are moderators on the site, the group is not run by a mental health professional. In addition to forums, the site also features “circles,” where members can connect on very specific topics.
VITAS Healthcare support groups provide information and guidance to those experiencing grief and loss. We offer an assortment of phone-in support groups and Zoom video support groups, free of charge, to help meet the needs of caregivers. These support groups are offered by VITAS Bereavement Services.

A mesothelioma diagnosis can raise feelings of grief and loss in patients, family, and friends. The grieving process is natural and takes time. Grief may be different than depression, and a mental health provider can help you identify a depression requiring medication. Becoming aware of certain signs of grief can help you build coping mechanisms for facing loss. There are support groups and resources for everyone involved.
